Lu Rodemeyer is a Licensed Massage Therapist who owns and operates North Iowa Massage Therapy Center . She has extensive training from Cedar Valley College of Massage Therapy in Waterloo , Graduating in July of 2002. Lu has continued her education with additional programs such as: The Upledger Institute; learning Advanced Craniosacral Therapy at Esalen at Big Sur , California . Lu completed the Professional Practitioner Certification Compassionate Touch® with Dawn Newson and Ann Catlin in 2007.

Lu believes that all pain and disease can be traced back to some form of stress, whether emotional or physical. Stress can turn to strain and strain is where there is a chemical change in the cells of the body. Strain takes the body into distortion. Distortion causes the body to have to work to maintain balance. Body fatigue and pain are the next step which sets the body up for disease and illness.  Illness is one way our bodies attempt to restore the balance it seek, cleansing the buildup of unwanted negative energy in our system. When we are not feeling our best, we can advance beyond merely addressing the physical symptoms to listening to our bodies
as it tell us the changes needed to restore balance.

Lu believes that when our body, mind and spirit are in balance we experience good health. Just as there are seasons in nature, our bodies go through seasons of cleansing and times of activity. Our bodies give us signals. If we don't listen when
our bodies are telling us we are tired or stressed or hurting, then the inbalance increases. Lu says the first step to regaining equilibrium involves slowing down, eating healthy foods, getting more rest, and taking soothing remedies.

Using massage techniques we can help our bodies overcome the stress and strain and reach a healing state.  She uses massage which incorporates craniosacral therapy, quantum-touch, myofascial release with trigger point therapy, SomatoEmotional Release, Reiki, BodyTalk, Zero-balancing and Raindrop Therapy with Young Living Oils essential oils. She also believes in working with chakras and meridians and will often do an energy balancing work for clients. Another special interest of Lu's is working with clients who have experienced abuse of various kinds.
